Frequently Asked Questions
Kiddo Clean Seats | Denver & Boulder
1. What makes Kiddo Clean Seats different from regular car detailing services?
Kiddo Clean Seats is a Child Passenger Safety–focused service, not just a cleaning company. Founder Zach Taylor is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) through the State of Colorado.
We specialize exclusively in child car seats and equipment — following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols with every service.
You’re not just getting a clean seat.
You’re getting a seat cleaned and handled with safety in mind.
2. Are you certified to inspect car seats?
Yes. Zach is a certified CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician).
This means we can assist with:
• Proper installation guidance
• Harness fit checks
• Placement recommendations
• Expiration and recall review
• General child passenger safety education
Our Clean & Check service combines professional cleaning with safety guidance for peace of mind.
3. Do you use chemicals on car seats?
No harsh chemicals.
Our primary cleaning method uses residue-free steam cleaning, which allows us to deep clean fabrics without leaving behind chemical buildup.
We follow each manufacturer’s care instructions and never apply products that compromise the integrity of the seat.
4. Is steam cleaning safe for car seats?
We only clean within manufacturer guidelines and our internal safety SOP.
Steam is applied carefully and controlled — never saturating foam or compromising structural components.
Safety always comes first.
If a manufacturer specifically prohibits a method, we follow the manual.
5. Do you take the entire seat apart?
Yes — as permitted by the manufacturer.
Our deep clean process includes:
• Full vacuuming of cracks & crevices
• Removal of washable fabrics
• Frame and base debris removal
• Steam cleaning of approved fabric components
• Careful reassembly
We do not disassemble harness systems beyond manufacturer guidelines.
6. How often should a car seat be professionally cleaned?
For children ages 1–5 (the highest mess years), we recommend cleaning every 3–4 months.
Spills, snacks, milk, and accidents create moisture and bacteria buildup that you often cannot see.
Our membership is designed around this recommended cleaning schedule.
7. What is included in the Clean & Check service?
Our Clean & Check includes:
✔ Full deep cleaning
✔ Safety inspection review
✔ Installation guidance (if needed)
✔ Harness fit check
✔ Expiration & recall review
✔ Parent education
It’s ideal for families who want safety and cleanliness handled at the same time.
8. Do you offer memberships?
Yes.
Our membership model is designed for busy Denver and Boulder families who want ongoing maintenance without thinking about it.
Membership includes:
• Scheduled quarterly cleaning
• Priority booking
• Discounted pricing
• Safety check included
• Member-only perks
This keeps your child’s seat consistently clean and reviewed for safety throughout the year.
9. Is membership monthly or yearly?
Kiddo Clean Seats is structured as an annual membership program.
Your membership covers a full year of scheduled service, typically including quarterly Clean & Check appointments per seat.
Some families choose to pay annually upfront, while others may use installment options — but the commitment is for the full year to ensure consistent maintenance and safety oversight.
This allows us to:
• Reserve priority scheduling for members
• Maintain consistent cleaning intervals
• Provide ongoing safety support
• Deliver long-term value
Our goal is not just one clean — it’s year-round protection and peace of mind.
10. Do you offer one-time cleanings?
Yes.
Non-members can book a one-time deep clean or Clean & Check service.
However, members receive priority scheduling and preferred pricing.
11. Do you come to my home?
Yes. We are a mobile service serving the Denver Metro and Boulder areas.
We offer:
• At-home service
• Pick-up & drop-off options (when needed)
• Scheduled service windows
12. What areas do you serve?
We serve families throughout:
• Denver Metro
• Boulder
• Surrounding communities
If you’re unsure whether we service your area, just reach out.
13. What about seats with permanent stains?
Not all stains are removable — especially older, set-in stains.
Our goal is to:
• Remove bacteria and buildup
• Improve overall appearance
• Restore hygiene
Routine maintenance prevents permanent staining long-term.
14. Can you guarantee all odors will be removed?
Most odors are caused by bacteria trapped in fabric and foam.
Our steam process removes the source in most cases.
However, severe or long-term saturation (milk, urine, etc.) may require multiple cleanings or may not fully reverse permanent damage.
We are always honest about expectations.
15. Why shouldn’t I just hose it off myself?
Common DIY methods can:
• Soak internal foam
• Damage harness integrity
• Void manufacturer warranties
• Cause mold growth
Car seats are safety devices — not just fabric equipment.
Improper cleaning can compromise safety.
16. Do you work with daycare centers or host safety events?
Yes.
We partner with local centers and host car seat safety check events in the Denver and Boulder areas.
If you’re a school, daycare, or community organization, contact us to collaborate.
